SPECIFICATIONS FOR TOILET WATERPROOFING
Waterproofing of Toilet: Chemical Waterproofing.
1. First inspect with Site Engineer the toilets ready for waterproofing, Following works to be checked
a. All chasing work of plumbing should be completed before waterproofing is started.
b. Soil, waste water and vent pipe are fixed in duct wall properly in position and in required position and level.
c. Carryout ponding to check area of leakage.
2. Thoroughly clean the toilet sunk portion walls and slab and also see the plastering of walls of toilets is done up to 1’0” above finished floor level toilets(i.e. top of Ceramic tile flooring). Thickness of plaster should be 25 mm.
3. A) Proportion: Mix Polyalk WP and cement in the ratio of 1:1:25 by wt. In presence of site engineer or concerned person. B) Coverage: 0.5 kg/m2 of above mix for the first coat. 0.5 kg/m2 of above fix for the second coat. Duration between first coat and second coat shall be 4 hrs. (min) and 24 hrs. (max.)
4. Apply 1st coat of chemical coating on floor and walls 1’ above F.F.L. and also 6” outside toilet door outer frame face of entrance of toilet, let it dry. Apply 2nd coat of chemical and immediately apply chaat coat with C.M. 1:4 Cebex 112-150 ml/bag on wet 2nd chemical coat all over so that waterproofing membrane does not get damage (day1).
5. Next day do screeding with cement mortar 1:4 and Cebex 112-150 ml/bag (25 mm thick. Including
chaat coat) with required slope on flooring and in plumb and right angle on walls to match the wall
plaster (day 2).
6. Next day i.e. Day 3 plug the outlet of SWR and soil and do the ponding for 3 days take care that curing to be done on walls also. After 2 days i.e. on 5th and 6th day check from lower floor if there
is any leakage in the ceiling also check the service duct if it is okay then after the permission from
Site Engineer or concerned person open the plug to drain out the water. If it is not ok then again apply chemical coating at contractors cost and do the same procedure as above, after breaking defective plaster. Give chal (work front) for concealed pipes in sunk for encasing by plumbing contractor.
7. Do the Brickbat in the Sunk portion, pond the water for 1 day check it for leakage, and then finish the B.B. Coba top in C.M. 1:4 with Cybex 112-150ml/bag in required slope. If the thickness is more than 1 ½” then do screed M20 without call 50 ml thick and finish the same with a proper slope towards floor trap and then carryout ponding for 7 days and check for any leakage.
